Let’s talk about it for a second… small business. ❤️
I’ve heard it allll.
“It’s not a real job.”
“At least you make your own schedule.”
“It must be nice.”
But let’s REALLY talk about it.
Owning a small business is most definitely a real job…except you’re not just the employee, you’re the entire operation.
Yes, the schedule can be flexible at times, but it also means being “at work” 24/7. It’s answering messages after hours, taking late night phone calls, finishing orders when everyone else is asleep, and constantly thinking about what needs done next. Truthfully, I work more now than I ever did at a 9–5. But I do it because I genuinely value my customers. I’ll bend every which way to make something happen and I know so many other small business owners do the same.
That includes all of the small business vendors inside my store. They’ve had the late nights, stressful days, chaos and MANYYY moments of doubt too. But they keep showing up because they believe in what they’ve built and truly appreciate every customer who supports them.
So next time you’re headed to a big box store, take a second and ask:
“Can I support a small business instead?”
You won’t ever get the customer service and care from a big box store like you would from a small business. Your purchase may seem small to you, but to us, it matters. Your orders, shares, recommendations and return visits are noticed and appreciated more than you know.
When you shop small, you’re supporting real people, real families and real dreams.
Support small. Shop local. Because the small businesses in your community are usually the same ones pouring right back into it. ❤️
