Our next 3-day Judy Niemeyer retreat is October 23! Consider this your open invitation to dive into the world of Judy Niemeyer’s stunning foundation paper‑pieced designs at our three‑day class, October 23, 23, and 25! This is the perfect space to learn, grow, and create heirloom‑quality projects you’ll treasure for years. Whether you’re brand‑new to paper piecing or eager to take on more advanced patterns, our retreats are designed around YOU and the projects you want to complete.

Beginners can start with 3–4 simplified patterns, while experienced paper piecers can focus on skill‑building or larger, more complex designs—all with guidance from our Certified Judy Niemeyer instructor, May Black.

We can't wait to see you at the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild Guild Show! We’ll be on site all three days with special Bernina show deals and we’re also teaching a full slate of hands‑on classes in the 4‑H Building classroom. Each class requires a DMAQG show ticket (available at the door or via DMAQG.org).

On Sept 26 create two adorable gingerbread ornaments while learning the basics of wool appliqué and foundational embroidery stitches. All materials included.

Come stitch with us at the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild Quilt Show!
In this 2‑hour English Paper Piecing make‑and‑take, you’ll learn how to use EPP papers, hand sew a simple block, and see how blocks come together—all while creating a small project that’s totally your own.

Stay as long as you want, try different shapes, and enjoy some peaceful handwork during the show.

Class is in the 4H Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, September 25 at 1pm. A show ticket is required for entry.
