Many Hands Thrift Market on Merle Hay Road

Many Hands Thrift Market on Merle Hay Road Igniting generosity locally + globally
Shop • Donate • Volunteer in Merle Hay We understand that not everyone can go to Haiti.

Many Hands Thrift Market is the Des Moines area's most unique marketplace to find high quality, low priced secondhand goods for the whole family! As part of the non-profit ministry, Many Hands for Haiti, the proceeds go to support local and global missions. Not everyone is in a place to give financially. Many Hands Thrift Market eliminates all those barriers to get involved with missions globally by providing an opportunity for people from the local community to get involved by either buying items or volunteering, without having to go to Haiti. Many Hands Thrift Market first opened on August 2 in Spencer, IA in 2013. The Market opened with the goal of providing the local community a way to give back, while providing steady revenue to continue the missions of Many Hands for Haiti. From just a dream, this store has been a blessing from God. Whether volunteering or shopping, the Market continues to provide ways to bless people in communities both near and far.

What an amazing non-profit fair held by the Iowa Christian Generosity Council. My assistant manager Rachel and myself (store manager Melissa) were blessed to have been able to attend this with many other wonderful faces from Many Hands. What a beautiful night of learning so much about other non-profits and just getting to spend time together really focusing on the “WHY” what we do is so important each and every day. Thank you to the Iowa Christian Generosity Council and the many many non-profits who showed up to support one another for God’s Glory! Plus we shared a wonderful meal together!
