📣 LAST CALL FOR 2026 HORSE BLANKETS! 📣

It’s already been another stellar year here at Roanie Knows! ❤️🐴 I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has trusted me with their blankets this season. But it’s time to start winding things down!

🔴 The last call for 2026 horse blanket service is Sunday, September 20.

To give me enough time to complete all remaining blankets by November 1, blankets may be dropped off at my house in Des Moines through Sunday, September 20. Blankets will be worked in the order they are received, so the sooner you get them to me, the sooner they’ll be finished.

⚠️ After September 20, blankets MAY be accepted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the weather and my availability. There are no guarantees once the deadline has passed.

☀️🧺🐴 Horse Blanket Washing Season Has Begun! 🐴🧺☀️

After a rainy start to June, horse blanket washing and repair has officially begun!

To help keep everyone informed throughout the season, I will be posting wash days and the region currently being processed on the Roanie Knows calendar.

Blankets will be processed in the reverse order of regional pickup:

🔹 Dallas Center / Madrid
🔹 Ames / Boone
🔹 Indianola / Norwalk / Prole / St. Charles

🔹 Altoona / Bondurant / Collins / Des Moines
🔹 Kansas City

📦 Drop off and pick up blankets will be worked into the schedule in the same reverse order.

📍 Blanket drop offs will be accepted through Sunday, September 13.

✅ All blankets will be completed and returned on or before Sunday, November 1.

☀️🧺 Horse Blanket Season is officially underway! 🧺☀️

Just look at these stacks! That's a 10' wide x 20' deep storage space chock full of blankets!

These horse blankets and saddle pads have been tagged into inventory and are ready for cleaning, repair, waterproofing, and whatever else they need to be ready for next season. This photo represents a lot of trust from my customers, and I never take that responsibility lightly.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who followed the updated labeling instructions this year. Your efforts made intake significantly smoother and more efficient. Less time spent tracking down information means more time spent getting your blankets cleaned, repaired, and back where they belong. I truly appreciate your help!

I also want to reassure everyone that your blankets are well protected while they are in my care. All items are inventoried, securely stored, and insured throughout the process. Whether you send in one blanket or an entire barn's worth, I treat every item as if it were my own.

Still need to send blankets in? There's plenty of time! Roanie Knows will continue accepting blankets through September 15, 2026 via drop-off at my Des Moines, Iowa home. If you've been meaning to clean up that blanket pile in your tack room, now is a great time to do it.

Today was all about getting horse blankets tagged into inventory and ready for Roanie Knows services this summer 🐴☀️

It was hot. It was sticky. And honestly? Music carried me through the day.

I waved my arms like Heath Ledger to David Bowie’s Golden Years. I belted out Miss Me More with Kelsea Ballerini. I tried to answer Justin Timberlake’s question about how to Drink You Away. I sang along to more ABBA songs than I realized I knew. I rapped with Pitbull and Dolly Parton, and yes…I even yodeled with LeAnn Rimes 😂

That playlist delivered every ounce of dopamine I needed to put in an eight-hour day and get NEARLY caught up on intake.

Most of my customers rarely see me. I quietly pick up and drop off blankets, often when no one is there. I’m trusted with gate codes, barn codes, and access to spaces that matter deeply to people. My customers know I won’t interact with their horses unless they’re present and I have specific permission.

The dogs and cats, however? Fair game for pets 🐶🐱

I never take that trust lightly, and it never goes unnoticed when it’s extended to me.

Roanie Knows is definitely not a traditional side business. Most days involve dirt, dust, grime, sweat, and some level of chaos. It is far from glamorous, and it certainly is not for everyone. But it is a niche…and a needed one.

And the best part? My customers remind me every day that these services truly matter to them.

I couldn’t be prouder of the community that allows me to support them and their beloved equines ❤️

So for the foreseeable future, I’ll keep showing up, sorting blankets, organizing intake, and supporting the horses and humans who trust me with their gear.

I will, however, be putting away the white bathmat until blanket season is over…because there is simply not enough bleach in the world to keep that thing clean 🤣

Roanie Knows Horse Blanket Service pickup in the Omaha area officially begins tomorrow, May 15th! 🐴✨

I’ll be stopping at the following confirmed barns:

I’m also planning a little personal sightseeing while I’m in town, including stops at Lauritzen Gardens and Mulhall’s 🌿🌸

📣 Attention Eastern Iowa Roanie Knows Customers!

As many of you know, pick-up and delivery fees are based on location and calculated by total mileage (both directions). That transportation cost is then split among everyone at that location who sends in blankets, helping reduce the cost for each person.

Here’s a quick example:

If the total transport fee for a location is $100:

1 customer = $100
5 customers = $20 each

In the past, Roanie has absorbed a significant portion of these transportation costs. However, with rising expenses across the board, that’s no longer sustainable. As a result, you may notice an increase in transport fees this year.

💡 Good news! We have a way to help lower that cost…

Jill Jackson, a fellow Roanie Knows customer in Center Point, has generously offered her barn as a shared drop-off and pick-up location! Her space is easy to access and has plenty of room for blanket storage, making it a great option to split costs among more people.

🧺 How it works:

You:
Reach out to Jill via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/jill.r.jackson) or text (message Roanie for her number) to schedule your drop-off. Drop off at her location BEFORE 8:00 AM on Saturday, May 30th.

➡️ Be sure to follow all labeling instructions and include “Center Point” as your location.

Roanie:
Will pick up all blankets from Jill’s barn on Saturday, May 30th.

Roanie (after service):
Will invoice you and return completed blankets back to Jill’s location.

You:
Coordinate with Jill to pick up your finished blankets.

This is our first year trying a shared drop-off location like this, and we’re excited to see how it goes! If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out.

To all my customers in Kansas City and the surrounding areas… THANK YOU so much! 💛

This year we made a big change by introducing a fillable intake form instead of a simple bullet list. And wow… you delivered. So many of you filled it out completely, and it truly made a difference. It was exciting to see! 😊

I’m about halfway through the KC intake process now. The before-and-after piles are pretty wild to compare! There are just a few blankets where the Roanie Knows CFO, Melissa, will need to follow up for a bit more info, but overall, everything came through exactly as needed.

To you, it may just be sending in a blanket or two, but when you’re working with hundreds, having the right details from the start saves time, money, and a whole lot of sanity 🙌

Are you getting those blankets ready for Roanie? Intake for this year’s Blanket Season opens in just over a week, and I cannot wait to get your blankets in for the glow up they deserve.

The newly redesigned website is looking fantastic and will be going live in just a few days. One of the most helpful updates is a fillable PDF intake form. You will be able to complete it, print it, and include a label with each blanket you send.

For now, I can only share an image of the form here on Facebook. While the image itself is not fillable, it serves as a guide for the information needed for each blanket.

If you would like the fillable PDF before the website launches, send me a message and I will email it to you.

Including all the required details helps us process your blankets smoothly and allows you to avoid the intake fee. Thank you for helping make this season a success.
