You've probably seen the headlines.
You've probably seen people saying you can now buy a suppressor with a 4473 and walk out the door.
Here's the simple version: That's not how it works — at least not yet.
Order & make your appointment here: https://www.creativearms.com/qb-series-suppressor-lineup/
The recent Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF ruling is significant, but it is not a nationwide change to how every FFL can transfer a suppressor.
Iowa is not one of the states that was a named plaintiff in the case, and the court's injunction is limited to the parties covered by the order, including certain plaintiffs, members, and customers.
We don't like the NFA either. But we also like our dogs.
So we're going to follow the current rules.
BUT WE ARE DROPPING THE PRICE.
For a limited quantity, while supplies last, we're dropping the entry level suppressor line prices!
No end date. Limited quantities. When they're gone, they're gone.
HOW IT WORKS
Buying from Creative Arms in Iowa?
Purchase your suppressor online.
Creative Arms will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete the required NFA paperwork.
Once the paperwork is submitted and approved, we'll coordinate your pickup.
Want it transferred to your local dealer?
No problem.
Purchase online and we'll transfer the suppressor to the NFA-qualified dealer of your choice, subject to that dealer's acceptance and applicable laws.
Live outside Iowa?
You can purchase from us and have the suppressor transferred to an appropriately licensed NFA dealer in your state.
If suppressors are prohibited in your state, you cannot legally take possession of one.
WHAT ABOUT THE $200 TAX?
There is no $200 federal transfer tax on suppressors.
That tax was reduced to $0 beginning January 1, 2026. The current legal fight is about the remaining NFA registration and approval requirements — not the $200 tax itself.
AND THE WAIT?
For our current process, we're seeing approximately one week after submission of the paperwork, although processing times can vary.
The important thing is this:
Don't take a Facebook post, Reddit comment, or another dealer's process as proof that the same procedure applies to you.
The law is changing quickly. Court orders, federal guidance, state laws, and individual FFL policies all matter.
We'll keep following the developments and we'll keep doing things the right way.
In the meantime, if you've been waiting for the right time to pick up a suppressor, we're bringing back the old pricing while supplies last.
