Happy Thursday friends! It’s been a little quiet over here because I’ve been at home battling a wicked sinus cold this week - thanks to my amazing crew I was able to stay home and truly rest, something I am so grateful for!!!

I know I keep sharing that there is a lot happening behind the scenes and believe me there truly is and I’ll be able to share more with all of you very soon! With all of these (unexpected) changes comes a TON of extra work, planning, and you guessed it - lots of financial and emotional stress. On top of all of that our SEVENTH birthday is next month (I know can you even believe it?!), so of course I’m working on some fun shop happenings to celebrate with all of you!!!

Please think of shopping sustainable with us as you’re settling into your end of summer routines. The shop has been getting fully stocked over the last few weeks with all of your faves and some new products as well so be sure to keep an eye on our story for daily updates!

It’s a beautiful day for some sustainability, bring your own containers in or choose from ours - and remember the most sustainable thing is to use what you already have (just make sure to properly clean any previously used containers before refilling with new products to keep things safe + clean) ♻️♻️♻️♻️

One of my favorite things about not working in my shop on Sundays is being able to mosey on down to The Refill Market on Ingersoll to fill my jars with bulk staples for my kitchen (and of course grab a few snacks for the shop)!!!

Today’s haul was a good one: DSM Pasta Co. clam shell pasta, Horizon Line Coffee locally roasted coffee beans, earth gems (vegan + GF m&ms), dried cranberries, soy curl jerky (it’s soooooooooo good😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨), black pepper, corse sea salt, pecans, these little fruit balls (I can’t remember what they are called), and the tastiest dry roasted salted cashews ever 🔥I also grabbed some New World Kitchen frozen Mac sauce (my secret ingredient in my tofu scramble) and some cashew alfredo cream sauce (not in photo).

ALSO in case you didn’t already know, owner Amanda is a great friend of mine and has been shopping with me since day one to refill all of her home and personal care goods. I remember wayyy back when she asked me if I ever wanted to add food to THE COLLECTIVE, which I said “no, but you absolutely should and I’ll support the hell out of you”!!!!

Des Moines is super lucky to have Amanda as a bulk refill shop owner, she’s one of the kindest, most genuine humans you’ll ever meet - IYKYK♥️

Definitely give The Refill Market a follow if you aren’t already and make a plan to stop over and check out what she has!!

One of our original tote bag designs from a customer who has literally been with us since day one and has had over a hundred transactions (that’s a visit at least once a month over the past -almost- seven years), talk about a well loved tote bag that has hauled years and years worth of sustainable goods by one of our most loyal customers 🥹🥹🥹

Thank you for supporting the shop Adena Dudney, one of my favorite things is when you come in and I know which of your 16oz glass bottles has dish soap (clear) and which one has unscented hand soap (blue) because you’ve been refilling them for soo damn long!!!! Appreciate you soo much!! 🫶🏼🌎♻️
