At Oakton and Lee, Goodwill Des Plaines Store & Donation center offers unique thrift shop finds

Located on the Northeast corner of Oakton and Lee streets., the Goodwill Des Plaines Store & Donation center offers unique thrift shop finds for resale store shoppers in and around Des Plaines and surrounding communities. Our second hand stores feature gently-used women's, men's and children's clothing, housewares, sporting goods, books, music, movies, toys, games and more. Donations to Goodwill help fund job training and placement programs. Plus, each store keeps thousands of pounds of clothing and household items out of landfills.

Chicago, you really know how to make a scene. 👻✨
The costumes? Iconic. The dance moves? UnBOOlievable. The memories? Picture-perfect. 📸💀
We brought a little Haunted Runway magic to Arts in the Dark , and YOU brought the energy! From dancing in the streets to striking a pose in our photo frames, you made this one unforgettable night.
A HUGE shoutout to Hip Hop ConnXion Chicago HQ for bringing the moves, Chello for keeping the crowd hyped, DJ Ray Eng Music for bringing the beats, and Sharene and the LUMA8 team for helping bring it all to life! 🖤
And to our incredible costume finalists and everyone who came out to celebrate, thank you for making The Haunted Runway a night to remember!
Until next time, Chicago. Stay spooky, stay creative, and keep giving us looks to die for. 🦇✨

Strong communities are built when organizations invest in people.

That's why we're proud to recognize Advocate Health with the 2026 Corporate IMPACT Award. Their partnership demonstrates how employers can help expand access to opportunity and create pathways for individuals to grow, succeed and contribute their talents.

Together, we're building a community where more people can achieve their goals and reach their potential.

No costume? No problem. 🎃🛒

Our content creator Shelby Shaper joined Block Club Chicago's It's All Good podcast to take host Jon Hansen on a Halloween costume treasure hunt at a South Side Goodwill!

Because sometimes the best costume ideas aren't planned. They're discovered somewhere between the clothing racks and a little imagination. ✨
