Thank You, Narrow Gauge Fans — Next Stop: Brass 2026 Convention!

What a great few days in Minnesota! A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us at the 46th National Narrow Gauge Convention in the Twin Cities. Whether you picked up a new model, stopped in to browse, or simply spent some time talking trains with us, we truly appreciate the support. It was great catching up with familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones!

As we wrap up the holiday weekend, we also want to wish everyone a safe, fun, and happy Labor Day! We hope you’ve had an opportunity to enjoy the long weekend before getting back to the usual routine.

🚂 Next Stop: BRASS 2026!

We’ll be heading to Independence, Missouri, September 18–19 for BRASS 2026 at the Missouri Model Railroad Museum.

We’re bringing brass in just about every size imaginable, including Gauge 1, O Scale, HO Scale, N Scale, and plenty of Narrow Gauge. Expect a wide variety of railroads, eras, importers, and price points from throughout the history of brass model railroading.

BRASS 2026 is also about much more than buying and selling. There will be clinics and discussions with an emphasis on the future of brass, and the hosts are encouraging attendees to bring their own models to exhibit and share. Have something unusual, historically significant, beautifully detailed, or simply a favorite piece of your collection? Bring it along!

🚂 Sneak Peek: This Week’s Brass Drop — Narrow Gauge Edition!

This week, we’re going all-in on narrow gauge!

In celebration of our attendance at the 46th National Narrow Gauge Convention in Bloomington, Minnesota, Friday’s Brass Drop is 100% HOn3, with a fantastic assortment of brass representing some of the best-known names in narrow gauge railroading—and quite a few lesser-known ones, too!

The lineup includes models from the Denver & Rio Grande Western, Rio Grande Southern, Benson Logging, and plenty of smaller narrow gauge operations.

⭐ Geared steam fans will especially want to pay attention this week!

Among the standouts are some fantastic geared locomotives from Pacific Fast Mail and Northwest Short Line, joined by a wide variety of other HOn3 brass from NJ Custom Brass, Far East Distributors, Westside Model Company, Gem Models, and more.

From Colorado narrow gauge favorites to logging equipment and some more unusual prototypes, there’s plenty to discover in this week’s drop.

We’re set up and ready to go at the 46th National Narrow Gauge Convention in Bloomington, Minnesota!

The booth is packed with narrow gauge models in a variety of scales, including HO, HOn3, Sn3, On3, and On30, with plenty of brass, plastic, wood, kits, books, and other odds and ends to explore.

As you can see, we brought a LOT with us! Whether you’re hunting for a particular model, looking for your next project, or just want to talk trains, be sure to stop by and say hello.

We’re excited to spend the next few days catching up with familiar faces, meeting some new ones, and enjoying everything the National Narrow Gauge Convention has to offer.

🇺🇸 Labor Day Holiday Office Closure

A quick heads-up that ReSourced Rails will be closed beginning tomorrow, Thursday, September 3rd, through Monday, September 7th for the Labor Day holiday.

We’re taking a few extra days this year to give our team a well-earned break—and to allow us to attend the 46th National Narrow Gauge Convention.

Our website will remain open for shopping throughout the closure, but all orders placed during this time will begin processing and shipping when we return on Tuesday, September 8th.

📧 Email and Facebook Messenger will be monitored periodically, but please expect slower-than-usual response times.

📞 Phone messages will be returned beginning Tuesday when we’re back in the office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our team enjoys a little time away. And if you’re attending the National Narrow Gauge Convention, be sure to come find us and say hello!

First Minnesota... Then Missouri!

Before we get ahead of ourselves, a quick reminder that ReSourced Rails will be at the 46th National Narrow Gauge Convention in Bloomington, Minnesota, September 2–5!

We’ll have a great selection of brass, plastic, and wood models, structure kits, narrow gauge books, and plenty more covering HO, HOn3, Sn3, On3, On30, and 1:24 scale. If you’re attending the convention this week, be sure to stop by and see us!

Next Stop: Brass 2026 Convention!

We’re excited to be attending Brass 2026 Convention September 18–19 at the Missouri Model Railroad Museum in Independence, Missouri!

This event is all about one of our favorite corners of the hobby: brass model trains. We’ll be bringing a large and diverse selection representing just about every corner of brass collecting, including Gauge 1, O Scale, HO Scale, N Scale, and plenty of Narrow Gauge.

Expect models from a wide variety of importers, railroads, eras, and price points. Whether you’re a longtime brass collector, searching for something particularly hard to find, or simply curious about getting started with brass, there should be plenty to explore.

And this isn't just a show-and-shop event. The hosts are encouraging attendees to bring models of their own to exhibit and share! Have a favorite brass model, an unusual piece, or something with a great story behind it? Bring it along and help make the weekend a celebration of the models and history that make this part of the hobby so interesting.

We’re also looking forward to the clinics and discussions throughout the event, with an emphasis on planning for the future of brass model railroading. There’s a tremendous amount of history to celebrate, but just as importantly, there’s plenty to discuss about where this unique part of our hobby goes next.

🚂 Sneak Peek: This Week’s Brass Drop!

HO scale collectors—we warned you last week. Your wallets are no longer safe!

After giving O scale the spotlight last Friday, this week’s Brass Drop swings completely back to HO scale, and we’re returning with some seriously impressive steam power.

The lineup features brass from a huge assortment of importers, including Division Point, Challenger Imports, Key Imports, Westside Model Co., and many more.

Railroads represented include the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, Western Pacific, and plenty of other surprises from the western part of the country.

⭐ The big theme this week? Articulated steam!

We’ve got a fantastic assortment of articulated locomotives coming Friday, representing some of the biggest and most impressive steam power to ever hit the rails. If large steam is your weakness, you’ll definitely want to take a close look at this week’s preview photos.

And it’s not all brass this week! Mixed into the drop are a couple of complete plastic passenger trains, adding a little ready-to-run variety alongside all that heavy steam power.

There are plenty of other locomotives and pieces of rolling stock hiding in the mix as well, making this another diverse all-HO scale Friday.

O scale collectors, this week is yours!

Friday’s Brass Drop is 100% O scale, with a wide-ranging assortment covering everything from transition-era heavyweights to traction equipment and more modern freight operations.

Railroads represented this week include the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail, Chesapeake & Ohio, Norfolk & Western, Western Maryland, and more. We’ve also got an interesting selection of lease-fleet equipment mixed into the lineup.

There’s plenty of variety here, but one set in particular deserves the spotlight...

⭐ This week’s standout is a pair of Precision Scale Co. Union Pacific EMD DD-35s, including the especially hard-to-find DD-35B. These massive diesels are impressive models in any scale, but in O scale they have some serious presence!

Beyond the headline pieces, expect an eclectic assortment of brass locomotives, freight equipment, traction models, and other surprises spanning several eras and regions.

The wait is almost over! The HO Scale BNSF Business Cars from The Coach Yard are arriving shortly, and final balance invoices have now been sent to customers with pre-orders.

If you reserved one of these cars, please check your inbox and submit payment promptly. As a reminder, final balances are due within 10 days of the pickup notice in accordance with our Pre-Order Policy. Domestic shipping is included at no additional charge.

🚂 The Coach Yard BNSF Business Cars Are Almost Here!

We’re excited to share that the long-awaited HO Scale BNSF Business Cars from The Coach Yard will be arriving shortly!

Pickup notice invoices are beginning to go out today and will continue to be sent through next week. If you have a reservation, keep an eye on your inbox! We ask that invoices be paid promptly so we can get everything processed and ready to ship as soon as the models arrive.

At this time, only customers with existing reservations are guaranteed a car. We did not order additional models beyond our reservation quantities, so there will not be any extras available when the shipment first arrives.

That said, plans sometimes change! If any reservations are cancelled or go unclaimed, those models will be made available for sale. Stay tuned to our page and website for any availability updates.

A big thank-you to everyone who reserved one of these cars through ReSourced Rails. We can’t wait to see them arrive!
