Office Closed Today | Out on the Rails Again

It’s another busy weekend for the ReSourced Rails crew, and we’re covering a little ground in the process.

Our team is attending the Naperville RPM Conference today and tomorrow, while Matt is headed west for the Colorado RPM Meet this weekend. Of course, no trip to Colorado would be complete without a little railroad sightseeing, so a quick detour through Durango was in order.

After all, it’s hard to pass up an opportunity to spend some quality time around the real thing.

Our Des Plaines office will be closed while we’re away, but the website remains open for business. Orders will be processed when we return, and responses to calls and messages may be delayed.

If you’re attending either RPM event, be sure to stop by and say hello. We’re looking forward to catching up with friends, meeting some new faces, and enjoying another weekend celebrating this great hobby.

And yes, we promise we’re getting some work done between railroad adventures.

🚂 Sneak Peek: This Week’s Brass Drop — Western Rails Edition!

We're heading west this week with an all-HO scale Brass Drop featuring the Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, Western Pacific, and some interesting West Coast traction equipment.

Friday's lineup includes steam locomotives, freight cars, cabooses, and more, with some particularly nice pieces from Challenger Imports leading the way.

⭐ This week's standouts include some beautiful Challenger Imports steam locomotives and cabooses, along with a selection of brand-new Brass Hybrid Series models from Broadway Limited Imports.

There's plenty to explore for fans of Western railroading, from classic brass to modern production models.

Our Best Warehouse Sale Yet. THANK YOU!

What an incredible day!

Yesterday's 🚂 THE 5TH ANNUAL RESOURCED RAILS WAREHOUSE SALE! was officially our most successful one yet, and we couldn't have done it without all of you.

To everyone who stopped by, whether you came from around the corner or traveled a considerable distance, thank you. Seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new customers, sharing stories, and watching some wonderful models find new homes made all the hard work worthwhile. We'll announce the winner of our $100 gift card in a future post so stay tuned!

This was also our first opportunity to welcome many of you into our new location, and the outpouring of support meant a great deal to our entire team.

We're incredibly fortunate to be part of a hobby filled with such passionate and supportive people. Your continued confidence in ReSourced Rails is something we never take for granted.

Missed the sale? We're not slowing down just yet!

Our next stop is the Chicagoland RPM Conference in Naperville, Illinois, where we'll be bringing another selection of HO scale brass models and resin kits.

We’ve saved one of our favorite previews for last!

Our Scratch & Dent Brass section is ready for tomorrow’s Warehouse Sale & Open House, and there’s quite a bit to explore.

We’ve assembled a great selection of HO scale brass locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, and traction models, all priced with the bargain hunter in mind.

These are the models that might need a little TLC, some missing parts, a fresh coat of paint, or a complete restoration. Some are excellent candidates for kitbashing, while others might be just what you need for your next project.

SURPRISE WAREHOUSE SALE SNEAK PEEK – RAILROADIANA

We’re sneaking in one more preview this afternoon, and this time we’re stepping away from the model trains to showcase something a little different.

Our Railroadiana section is coming together nicely, with a great assortment of railroad history looking for new homes.

We’ve got dozens of railroad lanterns, original signs, builders plates, dining car china, timetables, paper memorabilia, and plenty of other odds and ends collected from railroads across the country.

Whether you’re a serious railroadiana collector, looking for something to decorate your train room, or just enjoy owning a little piece of railroad history, there’s plenty worth exploring.

Let’s talk bargains.

With our 5th Annual Warehouse Sale just two days away, today’s preparations focused on some of the more affordable treasures we’ve been setting aside for the event.

We’ve got hundreds of loose HO scale freight cars and dozens of locomotives, all priced and ready for new homes. This selection includes plastic and diecast models, with everything from common rolling stock to some interesting and unusual pieces mixed in.

Many of these models are priced at just a few dollars each, making this a great opportunity to expand your roster, pick up some project material, or simply see what catches your eye.

And as you can see from the photos, there’s quite a bit to sort through. This is only part of what we’ve been preparing for Wednesday.

A little international flavor for today’s warehouse sale preparations.

We’ve spent another day getting inventory organized and onto the shelves for our upcoming 🚂 THE 5TH ANNUAL RESOURCED RAILS WAREHOUSE SALE!, and today’s focus took us well beyond North America.

We’ve got a great selection of models representing railroads from continental Europe, Great Britain, and Australia, with manufacturers including Roco, Trix, Märklin, Hornby, Auscision Models, Austrains, and plenty more.

There’s everything from locomotives and passenger equipment to freight cars, accessories, and complete train sets. We’ve also been sorting through a considerable number of loose and unboxed models, many of which will be offered at some pretty substantial discounts.

The photos are just a sampling of what we’ve been putting out. There’s quite a bit more to see, and we’re still finding things as we work our way through the warehouse.

🚂 FIVE DAYS TO GO — THE SHELVES ARE FILLING UP

Another busy day at ReSourced Rails as preparations continue for our 🚂 THE 5TH ANNUAL RESOURCED RAILS WAREHOUSE SALE! on Wednesday, October 14th.

Today was all about getting inventory out of storage and onto the shelves, and we made some serious progress.

We've been organizing hundreds of HO scale locomotives and passenger cars, representing a wide variety of railroads, manufacturers, and eras.

But the real icing on the cake is the thousands of HO scale freight cars we've been pulling together.

From traditional kits and ready-to-run models to custom-assembled cars and everything in between, there's going to be an enormous selection to browse. Whether you're looking to expand your freight car fleet, complete a passenger train, or add another locomotive to your roster, there should be plenty to keep you busy.

And as these photos show, this is just part of what we're preparing. Much of this inventory has never been listed on our website, which is part of what makes the Warehouse Sale a little different from our everyday offerings.
