I am done making excuses for ELEGOO

Black Ops 3D Productions depends on reliable equipment to produce high-detail resin parts for customers. Misprints happen. Failed supports happen. Resin loss happens. Those are normal operating costs in 3D printing, and I accept them as part of running a production business.
What is not acceptable is having one machine fail after only seven months, then having another machine develop a nearly identical problem just two days later at only four months old.
These are not old machines that have been run into the ground. These are relatively new printers that should be in the prime of their service life. Instead, they have become a direct threat to production capacity, customer turnaround time, material costs, and profitability.
I have owned earlier Elegoo machines that were absolute workhorses. They printed hard, held up under real use, and earned my respect. That is why this is so disappointing. The newer equipment I brought into the shop has caused some of the most damaging production interruptions Black Ops 3D has experienced.
I can handle normal business risk. I can absorb an occasional failed print. I cannot continue absorbing catastrophic equipment failures from machines that are only a few months old.

At this point, my personal recommendation is clear:

If you are considering an Elegoo printer for a serious hobby setup, Etsy shop, or production business, stay away until reliability and quality control improve dramatically.
A printer is not affordable if it repeatedly costs you resin, time, orders, customer confidence, and income. Cheap equipment becomes very expensive when it fails in the middle of production.
This is a frustrating and disappointing position to take because I once considered Elegoo one of the strongest names in resin printing. Right now, based on my own firsthand experience, I cannot recommend their newer machines to anyone who depends on their printers to make money.
Black Ops 3D Productions deserves reliable tools. Our customers deserve reliable turnaround times. And no small business should be pushed toward the edge of profitability by equipment that is barely months old. Going forward Black Ops 3D will begin looking towards Formlabs, Phrozen 3D Printer, and HeyGears, or even ANYCUBIC printers at this point. To our customers, orders are still being fulfilled but delays have been mounting. Many orders are still printing as we speak on our good printers in the meantime. Newer printers are on the horizon and faster production times are coming. We got kicked and sucker punched by these failures, but we are just too stubborn to quit.

To be eligible for judging and a winning slot, you must do the following:

Join and be active in the official build group:
Black Ops 3D Productions Build Group (search for it on Facebook)
Post regular build progress and updates in that group
Clearly show the Black Ops 3D parts you’re using in your build (along with your name and the date)

Failure to meet these basic requirements will result in your model not being eligible for judging or a winning slot.
If you don’t want to compete and simply want to share your model with the group, that’s perfectly fine too — you’re still welcome.
This post is strictly to avoid confusion and prevent anyone from feeling wronged by not following the rules and then being unhappy with the results.

In 1987, the Bell OH-58 Kiowa was experimentally modified as the JOH-58C to carry a three-barrel 20mm M197 cannon mounted inside the copilot’s station, with the gun firing through the aircraft’s nose. The U.S. Army was looking for a quick-response attack aircraft to counter Iranian gunboats in the Persian Gulf during Operation Earnest Will.

The ammunition belt ran across the copilot’s seat and was fed from a large ammunition container in the rear cabin. Engineers also added lowering skids, folding elevators, a roof-mounted camera and gunsight, and a Stability Control Augmentation System (SCAS) to help compensate for the cannon’s recoil.

However, test firing revealed serious problems. The lightweight helicopter’s nose pitched sharply downward when the cannon was fired, while propellant gases flooded the cockpit, creating a dangerous and blinding environment for the crew. The test was deemed a failure, the aircraft was returned to its standard configuration, and the concept was abandoned.
