This little gem is called a “kubaton”; it’s a striking tool. You can use this as a key chain (because you’re always supposed to have your keys out and ready to go!!) or you can hook it to your purse or backpack with a breakaway.
Made of durable, molded aluminum this tool LOOKS like nothing more than a cute decoration. But this is, in reality, a force multiplier. When you hit someone with this, you can actually damage tissue and even break bones!
Now, ANYWHERE you hit someone with this is going to be extremely painful and cause damage. But there are spots to aim for if you’re able to. If someone has grabbed you, the back of their hand or the radial nerve along the top of the forearm are great targets. We can also aim for: the sternum, the collarbone, the hollow spot at the throat where the collarbones come together, the eye, and the eye socket. A good solid strike to the temple can potentially be lethal, but if you are in a situation where you’re being attacked and you’re afraid for your safety, then all bets are off!
