The day I decided to embrace love was also the day I would only accept love the way I deserve to be loved.

It was a declaration to put myself before anything and anyone.

It was a decision to only allow those in my life who would love me properly.

The way I expect to be respected, the same way they demanded to be treated.

To be honest, most didn't want much.
They just didnt realize their bare minimum was being reciprocated.

Those WYD texts didn't warrant much of a response if at all.
No calls,
No begging for time spent.
Nothing.

But this is what they asked of me. You see?

My choice to be alone but not lonely was my savior.
I did not compromise myself to be with someone.
I did not accept less than just to have a situationship where I could "at least" lay with someone..on their terms, of course.

I can be me, peacefully.
Sowing the seeds for the love that is meant for be.
