This summer, celebrate 20 years of community, culture, and literacy with Know Allegiance Nation Books (KAN Books) — a bookstore proudly dedicated to authors and emerging authors of color right here in Michigan!

As we mark two decades of building a literary legacy, we’re doubling down on our mission to increase literacy rates among Detroit youth — one book, one poem, one powerful story at a time.
