The small town of Dexter, Missouri, has devoted years to crafting and perfecting its take on iconic Memphis-style dry-rub ribs.

Barbecue season lasts year-round in Dexter, and on Monday, Dec. 1, Representative Steve Jordan proposed Bill 1651, formally declaring the town as the “Rib City” of Missouri, as of Aug. 28, 2026.
