This flute was in a trunk of a car that had been rear ended. It’s an open hole Emerson. I told the person it would be fun to see if it could be repaired. I also told them it would never play the same. But, they’re using it as a backup to their Powell.

Another reason a flute should be serviced on a regular basis. This flute had the right hand keys corroded to the point where the keys wouldn’t move. The corrosion can be seen on the rod in the first photo and the rod cleaned in the second photo. Have a Clean, Oil, and Adjust performed regularly.

This is one happy flute player, who is beaming after deciding on a DI Zhao 700 from Warfield’s Fine Flutes! We aim to give students a variety of the best step ups and pro flutes to try here in my studio!
