We are already getting calls to see if we are going to start transferring suppressors without a Form 4.
The answer is No. Not Yet.
As a federally licensed dealer with a Special Occupation Tax (SOT) authorized to make and sell NFA items we are bound by the rules of the ATF. As the court cases are decided the ATF will be issuing guidance to FFLs, Manufacturers and distributors as to how we are to handle the new laws. If we take it upon ourselves based on ‘facebook attorneys’ and do the wrong thing at the wrong time we will place our licensing to sell fi****ms at risk. The big company’s can afford to take that risk, we cannot.
With that being said, we will continue to follow the current Form 4 procedures for the processing and transfer of NFA items. This includes Silencers, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns , AOWs, and machine guns.
As soon as we receive official guidance from the ATF on the change of procedures we will immediately post the information and begin following it on the date and time it is in effect.
