This fine Gibson SJ200 once belonged to the famous bluesman John Lee Ho**er. His daughter brought it to me for a set up. A guitarist in her band will be using it at a blues festival in Arkansas next month.

This 6 string Mountain Dulcimer came in needing some TLC. Frets were leveled, crowned, and polished. The Bridge and Nut, both mahogany, had broken corners that needed repaired. New strings tuned to D A D and now we’re ready for the hootenanny!

Anthony brought the bass to me with a severe up-bowed neck. I mean it was really BOWED UP! The truss rod was not working properly and if it did, there was no way it would straighten out the neck. We needed a miracle. 🙏 After removing the neck, I clamped it into a back-bow using a steel bar and a big-ole C-clamp. Then wrapped the whole thing with a towel, placed several damp sponges around the towel, then wrapped the towel with an electric heating pad. Then it was sealed in a plastic bag and hung up to cure with some nice warm moisture for a couple of weeks.
Afterwards: 😇 Praise the Lord, the neck no longer had an up-bow and in fact with string tension it stayed straight. In fact it still has a tiny bump of back bow which had to be reduced judiciously with a wee bit of fret leveling. Of course to really fix it for optimal playability, I would need to replace the truss rod, level the fingerboard, then refret it. Well that wasn’t in the budget, so with some new strings and tweaking the action, I got it very playable. It’s not optimal, but what was once dead is now reserected with new life and ready to rock again. 🎸 Anthony is happy and Buster who came along to pick it up definately approves! 😃

This sweet Les Paul belongs to one of my customers and he’s selling it. I’ve done a lot of work on it over the years, bone nut, set-ups, new pickups, 50’s wiring, etc. 50’s neck feels great, great tone, not too heavy, and easy on the eyes. He’s asking $1700.

Larry digs his 1969 Telestar after getting an overhaul. I did a complete rewire with new pots and a jack. Then reglued a lifting fingerboard followed by a complete refret. Strung up to an alternate tuning of EBEG . Now it’s ready for strumming into a psychedelic trip down the rabbit hole where the giant mushrooms grow. Yeah dig it man!
