We are coming up on Domestic Awareness always remember to never victim blame. Victims have to suffer their own guilt, they don’t need additional punishment.
Some facts:
The Reality of Abuse and Guilt/Abuse is the abuser's fault: The person who commits the abuse is the only one responsible for their actions. Victims are never to blame.
Control and fear: Abusers use manipulation, threats, and fear to trap their partners. Leaving is often the most dangerous time for a victim.
Shaming the victim: Blaming a parent for what their children witnessed adds secondary trauma. It ignores how hard the parent tried to survive an impossible situation.
Until we have walked that persons path we have no right to judge.
