Thank you again Cindy Cook Tyner for this beautiful bouquet of dahlias! Cindy is an avid gardener and grower of dahlias. She’s also one of my original customers from Cabin Antiques at Sister Lakes, the forerunner of Cottage Gallery.

Like many of my friends, Cindy follows my adventures on Facebook. Knowing I’m stressing out about construction that’s starting next Tuesday, she surprised me today with this beautiful bouquet. 🌸

My plan is to remain open during the 30 to 40-day storefront renovation, as I offer some special “hard hat” sales. 👷‍♀️

In the meantime, I could use some good vibes and prayers that it doesn’t rain during work hours for the next month. Cressy Commercial Real Estate needs a full 30 days to get her done! 🙏

And, yes, I warned my project manager there’s no time for dillydallying. 😉

Luckily there’s no need to worry about this crew. I know I’m in excellent hands. 👏👏

We’re weeks away from cold weather, though fall, winter and holiday merchandise is arriving daily at Cottage Gallery! The pretty color tones we’ve selected from Panache Apparel for this season’s mittens and hats are simply beautiful! If you’re a pink girl, like me, you may have trouble selecting your favorite from the light and dark pink and burgundy.

My heart is FULL with gratitude this evening. First, thank you to each of my customers! This was an awesome Friday at Cottage Gallery, as together we set a new sales record for a non-festival Friday!

As busy as we were at the store, I managed to slip out for a bit of volunteer work. I’m well on my way to selling 40 raffle tickets for the Dowagiac Area History Museum fundraiser! 👏👏

Top winners receive cash prizes of $2,000, $300 and $200. Friends, if you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, I’d be happy to call on you tomorrow!

Also making this an AWESOME day . . . Thank you to Nicole at China Garden and Andrew at OAK + ASH BBQ for jumping on board to also light the rooftop of your downtown buildings in Christmas lights!

In my block, on my side of the street, I now have contracts signed to light the building rooftops from China Garden to Edward Jones, also including Vincent J. Jewelers, Rosy Tomorrows, Yarn on Front, Dowagiac Pharmacy, Cottage Gallery, Saylor's Front Street Pizzeria, Caruso's Candy & Soda Shop, Venue 132, Wood Fire Trattoria, The Marshall Shoppe, Marcel Lebbin Law Office, The Hairitage, The Baker's Rhapsody and Bombshell Boutique. 👏👏

With commitments also in from Patrick M. Bakeman Mayor of Dowagiac of Bakeman Barbers, Sean T. Winters of CHI Ishobak Inc, Oak & Ash BBQ, The Heddon Museum, isabella grace LLC, the Shannon Lyons building and Green Dance Company, we’re well on the way to lighting buildings on the other side of the street!

Plus, Melissa Gunn is doing a great job in her block with commitments on her storefront, Deck the Halls, along with Cass County Democratic Party, OH MY Old Made New, Olympia Books and Miss Michele & Co.

Downtown neighbors, if I haven’t called on you yet, I’ll be on my way soon!

We’re less than a week away from Summer Sidewalk Sales downtown, along with Imperial Furniture’s Tent Sale! The bargains hit “the street” next Thursday, July 16, through Saturday, July 18.

At Cottage Gallery, I’ve been busy marking merchandise down. This year, customers will also see markdowns from some of our remaining inventory from Cabin Antiques. In case of inclement weather, we’ll just move Sidewalk Sales inside. 😉

Be sure to plan ahead. When possible, we prefer cash or check.
