Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL-06) stopped by the shop today. We had a great discussion about how tariffs are affecting our small business and the need for more funding for music education in our schools.
It is estimated that the music product industry paid approximately $1.34 billion in tariffs in 2025. The tariffs are making it more difficult for the entry level musicians.
By supporting music and arts education in our schools, we are creating more music makers, which in turn will support our little shop in the future as well as the entire musical product industry. Rep. Casten is on board with us and is fighting the good fight in Washington.

Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL-06) stopped by the shop today. We had a great discussion about how tariffs are affecting our small business and the need for more funding for music education in our schools.

A few photos of the CF Martin Guitar Tour featuring Chris Martin and Craig Thatcher held at Tobias Music this past weekend. Had around 100 people attend. Craig brought his A-Game with his guitar demos and Chris did a great job telling the story of his family’s 193 year old business.
Big thanks to everyone who came out of Friday evening.
