Never underestimate what the right space and a little transformation can become. 🖤

When I envisioned The Alyssa Files: Twenty in Noir, I knew the atmosphere had to begin before a single centerpiece, candle or place setting hit the room.

The venue gave me the canvas.

The draping completely transformed it.

And from there, I got to create. ✨

Watching the room go from its original state, to being wrapped in black, to the final installation was one of my favorite parts of bringing this vision to life.

That’s the beauty of event design — sometimes you have to look at a space and see what it could be, not just what it is.

The final result?
Exactly the dark, intimate and glamorous atmosphere I imagined for Alyssa’s Twenty in Noir. 🖤🍒

Inspiration is where it starts. Ex*****on is where the magic happens. 🖤🍒

For The Alyssa Files: Twenty in Noir, I had a very specific feeling I wanted the room to have — dark, dramatic, glamorous and completely immersive.

The inspiration gave us the direction.

Then came the installation.

And piece by piece, the vision started becoming real.

The balloon design and backdrop helped create the perfect focal point for the room, while still allowing all of the elements of Twenty in Noir to live together as one complete experience.

There’s something I LOVE about watching an idea go from a picture in my head… to inspiration… to installation… and finally standing back and seeing the finished product.

When the vendors understand the assignment… and then do MORE. 🖤🍒

I came with a vision for Twenty in Noir and sent over my inspiration for the cake…

What I asked for ➡️ What I got… WAY BETTER. 😍

The details. The drama. The way it fit into the entire design. She took the inspiration and made it her own while still giving me exactly what I needed for Alyssa’s celebration.

And then came the apples. 🍎✨

Another beautiful detail that helped pull the entire dessert experience together.

One thing about creating an event — you can have all the ideas in the world, but having talented vendors who understand the vision and bring their own creativity to it makes ALL the difference.

When your daughter turns 20 and gives you creative freedom… you create an experience. ✨

For Alyssa’s 20th birthday, I wanted something that felt grown, glamorous, moody and unmistakably her.

Black on black. Rich reds. Touches of gold. Cherries. A little leopard. A little Betty Boop. Candlelight, feathers and all the tiny details that brought Twenty in Noir to life.

From the moment she stepped onto the red carpet to the signature drinks and the final tablescape, every detail was intentionally designed to tell her story.

And seeing my baby standing in the middle of something I dreamed up especially for her?

Yeah… that part was personal. 🥹🖤
