Q: How long have you lived in Asheville, and how long have you worked in downtown?
A: My wife and I moved to Asheville around October of 2017. Growing up mostly in Columbia, SC, Asheville had always been one of our favorite spots to get away.
We didn’t relocate our business to downtown until December 2025. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
Q: What are some of your favorite places located in the LoLex District?
A: So far every business we have interacted with downtown in any capacity has been fantastic. Some of my personal favorites are Black Moon Ink, Mela, and Mora Jewelry!
Q: What do you love most about the LoLex Community?
A: I love that every business seems to be working towards making Asheville unique and giving locals and tourists a reason to come downtown.
Q: What makes Asheville special to you?
A: Community. I have never in my life experienced so much love and caring for your neighbors as I have here. When people say there’s magic in these mountains, they aren’t exaggerating.
Q: Are there any hobbies or groups you participate in?
A: I just like being a part of everything in Asheville that I can. From hiking with my wife and our dogs to going to gallery openings downtown and supporting our neighbors. It’s the best!

Q: How long have you lived in Asheville, and how long have you worked in downtown?
A: I moved to Asheville in 2024 just before Hurricane Helene from Santa Fe, NM where I operated Dane Wells Gallery for approximately six years. I gratefully opened my Downtown Asheville location at the end of 2024.
Q: What are some of your favorite places located in the LoLex District?
A: There are so many awesome retailers and establishments in LoLex. It depends on what I’m looking for, but for food I find myself at Mela and Heiwa Shokudo for delicious lunches almost weekly.
Q: What do you love most about the LoLex Community?
A: The people here are really friendly, down-to-earth, and passionate. It’s easy to strike up an engaging conversation whether recreational or professional with fellow business owners/staff. I value the perseverance exhibited throughout LoLex, which is composed of diverse small businesses and the dedicated people whom make it possible day after day.
Q: What makes Asheville special to you?
A: Asheville is extremely beautiful and bio-diverse. The climate is temperate overall and it’s green here much of the year with an abundance of outdoor opportunities. Downtown and LoLex in particular offer a high concentration of enjoyable amenities for a small city.
Q: Are there any hobbies or groups you participate in?
A: I love hiking, exercising at my local gym, reading and writing, listening to music, and of course painting (pretty much everyday when possible). I’m thankful that what was once my hobby, creating and sharing art, now overlaps as my profession. I’m looking to become more involved with the reviving Downtown Asheville Arts District in the future.

LoLex keeps growing, and so does our map!🐔 Our updated rack cards are officially here, highlighting the familiar favorites you know and love alongside new places helping shape the future of the district.

Created in collaboration with local artist Sam Stone and Izzy's Coffee Den owners, the design features the iconic Chicken Alley mural by artist Molly Must, a true LoLex staple and a reflection of the creativity that makes this district so special.

Thank you to all the incredible business owners and employees who came out for our LoLex meet & greet last month. It meant so much to gather, connect, and celebrate one full year of building something special together.

A huge thank you to VOWL Bar and DSSOLVR for graciously hosting such a great evening.

This is what LoLex is all about!, bringing local businesses together to support one another, share ideas, and grow side by side. So many exciting conversations came out of the night, and we can’t wait to see what this next year brings ✨

Q: How long have you lived in Asheville, and how long have you worked in downtown?
A: I’ve called AVL home for 9 years, and I’ve been managing Mountain Madre since 2021.
Q: What are some of your favorite places located in the LoLex District?
A: My top 3 favorites would have to be Izzy's, Rosettas, and Honeypot Vintage
Q: What do you love most about the LoLex Community?
A: The people! The Lolex community is just really genuine and supportive
Q: What makes Asheville special to you?
A: The community, hands down. It was a big part of why I wanted to move here—Asheville has always had such a connected, welcoming, good vibe
Q: Are there any hobbies or groups you participate in?
A: Spending time with my husband and our two dachshunds, camping when we can, and I’m a BIG plant person— I'm always looking to bring a new one home! :)
