Recorded over two nights at the Berkeley Community Theatre, S*M brought Metallica together with the San Francisco Symphony under the direction of Michael Kamen—and somehow made these songs sound even bigger.

Featuring a massive career-spanning set, the debut of “No Leaf Clover,” and the final Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newsted.

Original sealed copies of this one have become incredibly difficult to find—especially in this condition. A serious Metallica collectible that doesn’t surface often.

🎸 ON THIS DAY IN 1992: NIRVANA TURNED THE MTV VMAs INTO PURE CHAOS

Nirvana hit the stage with the opening notes of “R*pe Me”—a song MTV had reportedly told them not to perform—before quickly launching into a blistering version of “Lithium.”

And then things got completely unhinged.

As the song collapsed into feedback and destruction, Krist Novoselic tossed his bass high into the air…only for it to come crashing down on his head and knock him out. Dave Grohl then took over the microphone and repeatedly called out Axl Rose from the stage.

Messy, unpredictable and impossible to look away from—basically Nirvana at their absolute peak. One of the wildest live-TV performances of the ’90s. 🤘

Talking Heads — More Songs About Buildings and Food original Sire Records test pressing for the first U.S. release! Cut at Sterling Sound, this near-mint example is beautiful and glossy, appears virtually unplayed and includes its original generic white jacket and promotional sheet.

Test pressings were manufactured in extremely limited quantities before the commercial release and distributed only to select label and industry professionals for evaluation. They were never available to the general public—and most disappeared into private collections decades ago.

Produced by Brian Eno and featuring “Take Me to the River,” this is an extraordinary artifact from one of the most important albums of the late ’70s.
