Command D - Communication is a key issue!

Comic book store etiquette.

Hello comic fans.

Allow us to vent a bit today. Normally we don't post stuff like this but today is special. We will omit details as not to embarrass those that may deserve it and especially not to embarrass those that dont.

A couple months ago a nice man came into our little shop and asked to a new subriber. Turns out his other store had some bad thing's happen and could no longer provide him service. (That is all we will say about that stores situation as it is not our story to tell. Only know we sympathize with the situation and hope everyone finds a way to get thier books.)

Back to the story....

So this gentleman asks us to take up his subscription and do some back ordering for books that he did not want to miss in the next couple weeks. We worked with him for over an hour to make sure his collection would not suffer and it all seemed a good fit. Wait for it.

This guy backs a couple weeks later and picks up some of the books that arrived for him and we have a chuckle and again all is well. Today is exactly 2 months after that initial interaction and the pic below shows you all the books he left behind.

No contact...no "hey cancel my subs"...no " I'm moving and dont need the books"...we left a couple messages with no answer or reply whatsoever. Today he says he does not beed his subs and won't be coming in again. Exact reason seems like bull #%$@% but what can we do...

So to the point...

If you have a subscription ANYWHERE please keep in touch with your store. We are more than understanding that life may get in the way of your hobby and will work with you to keep it going or whatever you may need. Be nice to us and we will be nice to all of you.

First Dolly now Optimus...

Peter Cullen, the beloved voice actor for Transformers’ Optimus Prime has died. He was 85 years old. No cause of death has been reported yet.

Peter Cullen worked for decades as a voice actor but by far his biggest and most famous role was as the brave and kind Autobot leader. Cullen voiced the animated version of the character first on television, then in movies, and then continued on in the role when Michael Bay began the live-action Transformers movies in the 2000s.

This one hurts. This week, guys. THIS WEEK.

Command D - Buffy, Angel and Firefly are effectively uncancelled at Dynamite, with all three titles set to be resolicited.

Kelly Thompson’s Buffy and Angel story grew more ambitious, prompting larger debut issues without extra cost.
Dynamite says Buffy #1 and Angel #1 will return with significant added story pages and a better launch plan.
Firefly is also delayed and will be resolicited, while Dynamite confirms The X-Files launch remains on track.
