It’s a busy day on Saturday at MD nursery! We have two classes. Our first one is for kids at 10am. We have a vermicomposting class where we’ll learn about how all these creepy crawlers benefit our environment and how you can keep them as pets! Our second class is composting 101 at 11am with guest speaker Robb Sgroi, founder and CEO of Teton Bear Products and creator of the Grizzly Guard Composter. Both classes are FREE but please sign up so we know how many to plan for.

You’ve asked and here’s our answer! Choosing when to cut back your perennials is completely up to you on when that time is right. You can leave your plants through winter which can help retain some nutrients. You can cut your perennials back in spring just make sure it’s before there’s consistent new growth. If you choose to cut back in the fall just wait til your plant goes dormant and leave about 1/3 above the soil.
