With the final day of 2023 upon us, I wanted to give an update from the Foradoris.

Life is much slower for me. I get to soak in the moments I haven’t been available for the last few years. Rather it’s a morning coffee date with my hubby, or a slow Saturday morning with the kids, I am fully present. During the week, I get to snuggle my best friends beautiful twin babies. They have brightened our days, and my kids can’t wait to get home from school.

Frank is enjoying retirement! He spends most days on the couch, counter surfing, or laying on my lap. I know you all are fully invested in Frank, and he sends his love!

2023 seemed to be a rough year for so many reasons, but I hope you have all found some calm in the chaos. I have found my happy, and I thank you all for being a part of our chapter 💙

UPDATE: I found my "happy". I am working for Dr. Chick at Animal Health Services. I started Monday. I love it!

I enjoyed my 26-1/2 months at Better Bargains. It went by so fast! I got retail experience, learned that if the register didn’t work then a pen, paper and a calculator will do, wine slushes were okay as a afternoon pick-me-up (I only drink what the owner puts in front of me) and my customers made my day. I miss all of you.

In this building I also found a younger sister and a Nana. Chelsey means a lot to me and I don't see that changing. We still text everyday. I adopted a Nana who I still keep in touch with at least once a week. The doors may have closed but we will still be family. I want to thank Chelsey for taking a chance on someone who never did retail, never managed a store and never used a cash register. Not many people would do that. She welcomed me into that job and into her family. This past year has been difficult. Loss of jobs, loss of people in my life and the loss of two of my dogs. She was with me every step of the way. I didn't know where life was going to take me earlier in the year but it all worked out in the end. Being happy at a job makes going to work easier. It also makes living with someone easier LOL!

I fully intended to be there with her until those doors closed for the last time but life happens while you're busy making plans. It’s hard to clean out a store when your knee makes it impossible to sit or bend. Thankfully it’s better but I still wish I could have been there until the end with her. I was lucky to have her as a boss and her children are lucky to have her as a mom. She loves her kids and wants to spend more time with them. They are only young once. Those are days you never get back. I'm happy she found her "happy".

At some point I'll find my "happy" place but in the meantime I need to clean my house, work on a few projects I've neglected while I was working and spending time with my husband and my dogs.
I want to thank all our customers for shopping with us, for making me laugh and for reminding me what a great community we live in. The outpouring of support when my mom died I will never forget. Some customers became friends that I won't lose touch with because I get to follow you on FB. I have a lot of wonderful memories in that building and so many people I won't forget.
