Fall has arrived at the shop! Fall outdoor plants that is. Temperatures are still saying summer. 🙈

Fall is the best time to plant perennials, shrubs and trees. It is also time to change out those tired summer annuals.

Our assorted fall annuals make for the perfect porch set up along with pumpkins. Stop by today to get first dibs on ornamental kale, peppers, celosia, asters, fall colored petunias, zinnias, marigolds and more!

It's Thursday and the shop doors are open, 10 to 6!

We are somber this morning for our business friends that were affected by yesterday's fire. So thankful for the hard working men and women who faught the fires and are still fighting them today. I can't imagine but so appreciative of you all.

This year Seed + Soil had an awning built by Du Quoin Home Lumber. As we did for a lot of projects. We had plans to keep expanding it but thankful that we were intentional and used local businesses for our upgrade. They are the heart and soul of our town and especially main street. ❤️

No matter where you are we are all connected and rooted in Du Quoin. We all have memories of these businesses and how they have touched our lives. And this is what is special about small town living. Don't take your mom and pops shops for granted. We don't know how long we will be blessed with their presence.

Pray for Du Quoin- especially those who lost their new normal and today are looking at empty lots and bricks where a passion, lots of memories and history once stood.

Happy first day of September!

You have officially made it to the ber months. 🙌 Temperatures will be cooling off soon, leaves will start to change colors and fall will be here before you know it.

September is also childhood cancer awareness month. Childhood cancer is a nasty disease that is effecting far too many children, and many in Southern Illinois.

We have partnered with the Jamir strong legacy foundation again to raise funds and toys for those in need.

We personally know this family and had the honor of creating beautiful fun flowers for Jamir's funeral that showed his big, fun personality. He was such a big, bright light on this earth and his legacy is bringing smiles to hundreds of kids already.

You can help bring smiles to kids suffering and continue Jamir's legacy by supporting this cause. You can drop off toys Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Seed + Soil the whole month of September.

As a thank you from us, we will give you 20% off your purchase the day you bring in a toy.

It is such a magical time this time of year in our little town. It really is miles of smiles. 🎡

We would like to thank Discover Downstate Illinois for stopping in our little shop today.

It means so much to us that you admire our passion project brick and mortar plant shop to come in and take pictures.

We appreciate being in any of your work and looking forward to the next publication. Without the promotion of our towns, businesses and the beautiful scenery in the Downstate, we will have nothing.
