Vandermeer Diesel Equipment Services is looking for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic!
Vandermeer Diesel Equipment Services is a heavy diesel mechanic shop specializing in agricultural and construction equipment. Vandermeer Diesel is a fast-growing business, and we are looking to add to our service department.
Position:
Full-Time + Overtime
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Follow work order instructions
* Troubleshoot and repair equipment
* Keep work area clean and organized for efficient workflow
* Communicate with the parts department and service manager regarding needed parts
* Inspect and perform repairs on all parts of heavy diesel equipment
* Accurately document and explain completed work in writing
* Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned
* Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow with a rapidly growing company
Required Skills:
* Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete repairs efficiently
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to document completed repairs and maintenance work
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Dependable work ethic and punctuality
* Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* 2+ years of heavy diesel mechanic experience
* Experience working on agricultural and/or construction equipment
* Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine diagnostics
* Strong customer service skills
* Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Pay:
Starting pay depends on experience and willingness to learn.
