Today is National Family Owned & Operated Business Day, and we’re taking a moment to celebrate the story behind Sotavent.

What began with our grandmother Mariona opening a small shop in Tossa de Mar, Spain, in 1954 has grown into a family business spanning three generations, two continents, and more than 70 years of stories, relationships, and community.

While the shops, products, and places have changed over the years, the heart behind them has remained the same: sharing meaningful pieces, creating connections, and helping people bring a little beauty into everyday life.

As we prepare to say goodbye to our very first storefront and begin a new chapter in a larger space, we’re reminded that Sotavent has never been about a building. It’s about carrying forward the spirit that Mariona started all those years ago and creating a place where people can slow down, discover, gather, and feel at home.

Thank you for being part of the story. The next chapter is just beginning.

We’ve been keeping a secret, and we’re so excited to finally share it… Sotavent is moving locations!

What started as a small dream has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined, and it’s all because of this incredible community.

As we prepare for our next chapter, we’re creating a space with more room for the things we love most: beautiful products, meaningful stories, and moments of discovery.

There’s still plenty to do before we open the doors, but we can’t wait to bring you along for the journey.
