This is how a bouquet starts. 🌿

A table full of locally grown flowers.
A little chicken wire.
A whole lot of stems.
And then… we start playing.

One of the things we love most about working with seasonal, locally grown flowers is seeing how many different textures, shapes, and colors can come together to create something completely unique.

And that’s exactly what we love sharing in our floral workshops.

🌼 Pumpkin Party (Kids): little flower lovers get to cut their own flowers from the garden, build a bouquet, and take home a pumpkin, too.

🍂 Thanksgiving Centerpiece Workshop: we’ll dive a little deeper into brown and tan flower varieties (yep, we said it “brown”), create centerpieces in time for Thanksgiving, simple design techniques, and how to care for your flowers so you can enjoy them longer.

You don’t need to know the names of every flower or have a green thumb to create something beautiful.

Sometimes you just need a bunch of flowers and a little curiosity. 💐

It’s dahlia season…

Can you guess what color this dahlia is?


Pink? No.

Purple? Nope.

Red? Nah.

Blue? Definitely not.

Green? No.

Yellow? Closer. Kind of.

Orange? Yes 🙌 , although is a mix of orange and yellow.

Aren’t flowers amazing?!

Okay, maybe fall really is sunshine and rainbows…
🌞🌈🌸🎃

Especially when it looks like this.

Imagine an afternoon where the kids get to wander through a flower garden, cut their own fresh flowers, create a bouquet in a pumpkin-shaped vase, snack on fresh garden veggies + fruit, and pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Yep. We thought that sounded pretty fun, too. 🥰

Our Pumpkin Party (Kids) Bouquet Workshop is a hands-on afternoon at Bastian Family in Hermantown where kids get to experience the flowers in a local garden.

Two florists will guide everyone, so no floral experience is needed. Just come ready to get outside, get creative, and make something beautiful together.

Never underestimate the ribbon. 🤍

Sometimes it’s the smallest finishing detail that makes a bouquet feel completely finished.

For this North Shore wedding, we finished the bridal bouquet with raw-edge chiffon silk ribbon. It’s soft, slightly undone, and has just enough movement to complement the loose, wildflower-inspired design.

I love ribbon that doesn’t feel too perfect.

A little texture.
A little movement.
A little trailing behind the bouquet as she walks.

It’s a small detail, but totally worth it.

And yes, I will absolutely spend an unreasonable amount of time getting the ribbon just right. 😂

One thing you don’t necessarily think about when you’re planning a mountain wedding...

How do you actually get all the flowers up there?

For this North Shore wedding in Lutsen, every single bucket of flowers, arrangement, bouquet, and floral detail had to make its way up the mountain by gondola.

Which meant we had to think a little differently about wedding day logistics.

• How much could we safely transport at once?

• How would everything be protected?

• What needed to be assembled before we went up?

• What could be finished once we arrived?

And, most importantly...

How many flowers can you fit in a gondola that doesn’t stop?! 😂

Wedding floral design is part creativity, part logistics, and occasionally part mountain transportation.

And honestly, those are the behind-the-scenes details I love.

There are some weddings where the location is simply beautiful.

And then there are weddings where the location means something.

This couple met as ski instructors, so getting married on the mountain wasn’t just a beautiful backdrop. It was part of their story.

For their flowers, we leaned into that feeling with an elegant, wildflower-inspired design that felt natural against the landscape without looking overly rustic.

Loose movement.
Soft texture.
Beautiful, unexpected blooms.
Nothing too perfect.

Because when a location already holds so much meaning, I don’t think the flowers need to compete with it.

They just need to feel like they belong there.
