Have you ever wondered who built the library ladder in the bookshop? Well, wonder no more- it was this guy! Thank you, David. The shop just wouldn't be the same without it!

The game of chess has been around, though in a different format than today's game, since around 600 AD. Chess continues to be very popular today, and it's not uncommon to find people playing chess outdoors on a large board at the White Rabbit Books & Curiosities in Durango. I photographed David, playing a friendly game of chess, a couple of weeks ago, while I was listening to Bonnie play the flute and harp. Thank you, David, for participating in 'Faces of Durango.'

Thanks so much to everyone for being a part of the White Rabbit. Everyone brings something different to the mix, and those little things add up in a big way. Thank you, Bonnie. Thank you, Cary (AKA "The Portrait Outlaw") Thanks to you all out there, too!

Mesa Verde Park Ranger and musician, Bonnie Schmader, is seen playing the flute in this photo, which I took a few weeks ago. She was playing in the small garden located along the Animas River and next door to the White Rabbit Books & Curiosities. Kenna, the owner of White Rabbit Books and Curiosities, invited her to play at the intimate setting. (Be sure to check out a short video clip of Bonnie playing the flute in my next post.)

Thank you, Cary Lindley, for sharing your great photos, and to Bonnie Schmader for gracing us all with your music in the garden!
