Exotique : Boutique and Art Gallery

Exotique is looking for artists who are interested in making new art from old. We are hoping to foster artistic collaboration and innovation with this exciting new project!

Participating artists would be invited to the store where they can select pieces of art that resonate with them. The artist would transform these pieces into new masterpieces within a timeline that will be determined between the artist and Exotique. Please note that the Art Renewal project is an unpaid project. If you come to Exotique this week you might see Abundantly You by Kelly Ayana Nembhard bookmarked and laying in the corner of the register desk.

What I love about this book is how much care Kelly guides the reader. Even when it comes to reading the book she says “you don’t have to read this book cover to cover. Start with any article that speaks to where you are now. Take breaks to practice what resonates.”

In those few sentences, I already found an expectation I set for myself (read the entire book in 10 days) that was based on outside influence rather than want I wanted to do (read the book at my own pace).

So if you have read the whole book, just a section or haven’t read it at all, this event is for you.
