It’s hard to tell what fabric is really like online. We do what we can with products photos, descriptions, and comparisons but it’s not a replacement for the real thing.

That’s where samples come in. It’s a fail safe way to get eyes and hands on the color, texture, and drape of a material.

Plus, if you want a safe way to protect (and display) your samples you can get the sample binder.

In case you needed a reminder to give your machine some TLC. Here’s your checklist for what to clean.

- Take the needle out and get a new one
- Remove pressure foot, throat plate, and feed dogs
- Brush away debris
- Clean out the drip pan
