J. Kameron Carter stopped by the shop the other week and signed a copy of The Anarchy of Black Religion: A Mystic Song (Duke University Press, 2023).

He is a professor of African American Studies, Comparative Literature, and Religion at the University of California at Irvine and has also taught at Duke University and Indiana University Bloomington. He will be joining Washington University this fall.

Carter is also the author of Race: A Theological Account (Oxford University Press, 2008), editor of Religion and the Futures of Blackness (2013), and editor of The Matter of Black Religion (2021).

We’re looking forward to his next book release Whiteness: A Religious Lamentation (Yale University Press).

A ✨new bombshell✨ has entered the villa ! Introducing our Read The World Book Club at The Regulator Bookshop: a thematic book club that focuses on a country or place. Read any book you’d like about the selected location and come to book club to discuss! We’re also happy to help with suggestions. Our first meet up will be in August, any guess as to which place we’ll discuss first? 🍵 We’ve left a hint on our flyer.
