Just got back from a 4-day solo trip to the lake cabin. First solo trip without my dogs (too much to haul back, no room this trip) I wasn’t scared, not even a little. But when I realized the battery banks were dead, the generator wouldn’t start, and I had to make a trip to the outhouse at 3 am…😳👀
Then I looked up and the sky was LIT with stars. I turned off my headlamp and just stood there. I could have stayed out all night. If you’ve never spent time completely and totally alone in the wilderness, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s pure magic.
