61 years ago today!

War has always been ripe for bizarre and terrifying stories. Not just tales of man’s inhumanity toward his fellow man, but tales of the inexplicable and the unknown, and no war may be greater for this than Vietnam. Found in the pages of author Nick Redfern's "Monster Files: A Look Inside Government Secrets and Classified Documents on Bizarre Creatures and Extraordinary Animals!" the Han River Horror, while rare, has been reported numerous times over the years. Some claim it is a simple case of misidentification, but there is no known snake, eel, or oarfish that measures even close to the 80 foot monster that has been reportedly seen.

Ok here is the itinerary for the Festival on October 17th. We look forward to seeing everyone there. This will be a kid friendly event. We have a great lineup of speakers and a round table Q&A so bring your questions. The 2 Documentaries that are going to be played are amazing films. We are going to also have great vendors and food at the Festival. So come down on October 17th and join us. Call Loudon Parks & Recreation to get your Vendor spot. Also there is no Admission fee. This is a free event so come and enjoy the day with us.

74 years ago today!

While many may be familiar with yesterday's post about the Flatwoods Monster, a bio-mechanical being that was reported to have crash landed in Braxton County, what many might not be aware of is what happened the following day! About 24 hours after those events, not even 20 miles away from Flatwoods, the Snitowsky family would have their own brush with the unknown! Even though some have speculated that the creature seen by George and Edith was the very same entity seen in Flatwoods the night before (it had merely shed portions of a protective environmental suit) it would be given its own name... The Framework Monster! Adding to the mystery is the September 13, 1952 edition of the Charleston Daily Mail, which reported, "Hundreds of West Virginians from Wheeling to Bluefield reported last night seeing strange meteor-like objects flashing through the sky". Sitting at the midpoint between these two locations, Wheeling and Bluefield, is Braxton County! Keep your eyes on the skies and as always...
