EGGSHELL EDITION

The unsung hero of walls! Eggshell paint is the finish most people are familiar with. It’s often the default for walls for its practicality and inoffensive sheen level.

So why is it called ‘Eggshell’? 🥚
Because the sheen (shine) is similar to the sheen of the outside of an egg!

Often specified on interior (residential) walls, because it strikes the perfect balance of matte and shine.

The ‘goldilocks’ of paint finishes - It’s not too matte (more fragile) and not too shiny (more reflective/ less forgiving to imperfections on walls) - Eggshell with a 15% sheen is just right!

When in doubt - Eggshell is often a safe bet 😉

If you find the perfect paint color but select the WRONG finish for your project, your paint is going to disappoint you.

Sheen matters.

…So what is ‘SHEEN’?

Sheen is part of the paint finish. It’s how reflective, or ‘shiny’ your paint looks. And how durable it’s going to be. The higher the sheen, the more durable the paint. But higher sheen doesn’t always mean better finish, or lower maintenance.

We’ll be doing a deep dive into ALL the sheens and finishes. When to use them, when to avoid them - and how to apply each finish for best results.
