Thank you to the Telegraph Herald for taking the time to talk with us, and with other local h**p businesses, about what these law changes actually mean for the people, businesses and communities behind this industry.

We’ve spent years building RiverBluff into more than a store. We’ve built relationships, helped people find products that work for them, created jobs, and somehow ended up with one hell of a family along the way.

We’re incredibly sad about what’s coming, but we’re still here. We’re still open. And through November 11, we’re going to keep doing what we’ve always done: taking care of our customers and our community.

And, as DJ told the Telegraph Herald, we’re certainly not just going to go away quietly. 💚

We wish we weren’t making this post. 💔

The rumors are true. RiverBluff Collective’s last day of business will be November 11th.

We know many of you have already heard bits and pieces about what’s happening, and we know there are a lot of questions. We wanted you to hear the full story directly from us.

The short version is that changes to both Illinois and federal h**p laws have left us without a path forward. The longer version, how we got here, what these laws actually change, and what the next few months will look like, is something we’ve taken the time to put into words on our website.

But this is about more than laws and regulations.

RiverBluff has become SO much more than a store to us. It’s the people who stop in every week. The customers we know by name. The conversations at the counter. The friendships that have formed here. Current and past employees who have poured so much of themselves into this place. And a community that supported us, trusted us, and allowed us to build something we’re incredibly proud of.

We are heartbroken that it has to end this way.

But we’re not gone yet. We’re open through November 11th, and we still have some time together. We plan to make the most of every bit of it.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us, believing in us, and making RiverBluff what it is. We’re not ready to say goodbye, either. 💚

Heads up, RiverBluff friends — summer construction season is here! 🚧

Beginning June 10th, the Julien Dubuque Bridge repair project will begin in phases and may impact travel between Dubuque and East Dubuque over the next several months. While getting to us may require a short detour at times, RiverBluff remains OPEN and ready to serve you as usual. 🌿

The Iowa DOT estimates detours could add approximately 15 minutes to your drive depending on the phase of construction.

Current projected timeline:
• Phase 1 (June 10 – Early July): Partial lane closures
• Phase 2 (Early July – Early August): Full bridge closure
• Phase 3 (Early August – Mid-September): Similar traffic pattern to Phase 1
