~CURLY MAPLE~

-Curly Maple is not a species of wood, it is one of the most famous grain variations of the maple heartwood that is today prized as one of the best wood types for the creation of musical instruments (most notably guitars, violins, and other string instruments).

-The defining characteristic of curly maple grain is the fascinating design of its grain pattern which manages to create an interesting illusion of a three-dimensional pattern in which it appears that the grain is curling along the length of the entire board.

-Curly maple is toasted in the oven at 360° Fahrenheit for 4 hours to highlight the pattern.

~TEAK WOOD~

-Teak comes from the teak tree or Tectona grandis. Tectona grandis is a tall, deciduous tree found in south and southeast Asia. Growing up to 50 meters and living for 100 years, teak is coveted for its attractive color and grain, durability, strength, and resistance to splitting, cracking, termites, fungus, and weathering.

-Teak is high in natural oils and rubber, meaning it’s highly resistant to rotting. You can leave teak outdoors all year round, even in the snow and rain, and it should not rot for 20 years!

-Grade A teak is extremely durable, able to withstand all weather conditions, and remains beautiful and strong for years – decades, even – so teak will seem expensive, but it is a one-off purchase that can last a lifetime.
