One of our favorite weekends of the year is just six weeks away, and we’re getting ready for local makers, live music, great food & drinks, pumpkins, mums, fall fun and other festive reasons to spend an autumn weekend with us!

Bright, cheerful, and keep blooming without any deadheading — these things are Suncredible! Suncredible® Yellow Helianthus hybrid, that is - and they provide classic sunflower looks in a much fuller form. Unlike traditional single-stem sunflowers, Suncredibles develop a bushy habit, and it continuously produces sunny yellow flowers with dark brown-centered blooms longer than its peers - throughout summer and well into fall. Its flowers reach about 4 inches across and make great additions to cut arrangements.
Growing up to 3 feet both tall and wide, Suncredible Yellow looks lovely as a “thriller” in summer and fall planters, or in beds toward the back where they create a beautiful, colorful border. Like its name implies, it loves full sun and handles summer heat well. It’s an especially fitting annual for this time of year - bringing that sunny sunflower brightness into the late-summer garden and carrying the color right into fall.

She’s an LA lady, a seamstress for the band, she’s dancin’ in the sand…she’s ’Blue Jean Baby’ Russian Sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia) - and she’s as effortlessly cool as the lyrics describe. This Blue Jean Baby is covered in lavender-blue flowers that rise above fragrant blue-green stems and foliage, creating a soft haze of color from midsummer well into fall.
Reaching up to 34 inches tall and around 3 feet wide, ‘Blue Jean Baby’ offers the airy look of traditional Russian Sage but in a more compact form. Its sturdy habit makes it especially easy to work into perennial borders, cottage gardens, and sun-filled, dry areas of the landscape.
Russian Sage is drought tolerant, deer resistant, fragrant, and a great choice for pollinator-friendly gardens, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. ‘Blue Jean Baby’ is a tough, low-maintenance perennial that brings cool blue color to the garden

As we make our way through August and see that September is fast approaching - ‘tis the season for Graceful Grasses® Purple Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’) — an ornamental grass that brings deep color, texture, and movement to late-summer plantings. Rising up and spilling over like its name suggests, Purple Fountain Grass’ upright green and burgundy foliage is topped with soft, arching rosy-purple plumes that sway beautifully in the breeze and provide additional visual interest. Growing up to 36” tall and up to 24” wide, ‘Rubrum’ makes a standout addition to mixed containers and mass plantings as a dramatic “thriller.” They’re a great annual to use if looking for something that will easily transition from the summer heat to cool fall days as they’re tolerant of both! Give them a mostly sunny or full-sun spot to show off their plumage in combination baskets or give them their own pot so they can be easily moved/arranged to create a beautiful autumn display with pumpkins, gourds and other fall favorites!
