Munro Studio of Music was incorporated in 1967 by two Air Force Band friends, John Fogarty and Jesse Farber. John and Jesse wanted to go into business together doing something they both loved, so a music store and lesson studio was a perfect match for the two musicians. Munro Music had humble beginnings, with John and Jesse teaching guitar and saxophone respectively themselves. In fact we have man

y students here in our store today whose parents also took lessons at Munro Music when they were children. Over the years Munro Music grew in popularity, and soon became a staple of the East Northport community. Community outreach is something that is very important to us, and we feel honored to support such organizations as the Northport Choral, Northport, Huntington and Commack High School Marching Bands, John W. Music education is something that should be an integral part of any family friendly community, and is something that we feel very passionately about. Munro Music now has over 20 teachers on staff and offers lessons in: Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, Violin, Viola, Cello, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn and Voice. We carry a selection of band and orchestra instruments for sale from brands such as: Bach, King, Selmer, Armstrong, Gemeinhardt, Juzek, Gliga, and more. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved office dog Chloe at the age of 15.

Chloe was adopted by our founder, John, in 2009 and spent most of her life around the store surrounded by nothing but love and affection by her family, the Munro Music team. She was kind, playful and gentle, and loved getting pets by our regulars as they came in for music lessons each week.

She passed peacefully and comfortably Tuesday morning surrounded by her family. Chloe will live on forever in our hearts and our memories of all the joy she brought to our lives.

We love you Chloe! 💕
