You have to be really in tune with your jig when light tackle bucktailing for fluke. If you loose all feeling of your bucktail, either the person next to you tangled your line, or it’s a fish swimming with it in its mouth. Since I was the only one on the boat it must be a fish. Sometimes you just need a break to clear your mind. Returned to the surf where the fishing addiction all started. Was great to see the ocean from the other side for a change and also to feel the freedom of just fishing without the pressure of putting clients on fish. Surf fishing was a big part of my life for many years. I don’t regret leaving it behind but it is definitely more enjoyable doing it with old friends and new ones. This video shows how using your trolling motor will put more fluke in your boat. Everyone was complaining how bad the fishing was with the wind. I kept on the fish and landed a few keepers cause I was able to control my drift by using the trolling motor effectively. If you have one on your boat, I can teach you how to use it to put more fish.
