Sorry to say goodbye.
The time has come when I had to make the very difficult decision to close the pharmacy.

Sorry for the abrupt closure and notice but that is part of the agreement.
This decision was based on declining reimbursements leading to losses in 2025 and so far in 2026, a lease that was expiring in November, and my age.
Back in 2012 when Aurora closed this location and sold the records to Walgreens, I fought to reopen a pharmacy in East Troy. I was going through a divorce, recently unemployed. No bank would give me a loan to proceed. I entered a questionable partnership which enabled the vision to proceed, however, eventually this partnership was loaded with benefits to my financial partners that were not beneficial to me.
After refinancing my house, work with Leah Sperle at Citizens bank, and great landlords the Martins and McCormack’s that also believed in this vision, I was able to go it on my own. I have continued for another 7 years.
Over this time, I faced bankruptcy twice and would be headed that way again. At my age I cannot risk that. Rising costs including lease, declining reimbursements, and unfair PBM audits, have led to a business model that is no longer sustainable. In November I would be facing having unprofitable business without even a place to operate. I have been trying to find a buyer for the last year to keep this an independent pharmacy. Limited offers came in that would not cover what I had put in but more importantly any buyer could not find a pharmacist that would work for the wage I had to pay myself to keep this pharmacy open.
Thank you to all my great customers as I will truly miss you and what I thought I brought to the community. Thank you to all my great employees and what you have brought to this community and my ability to keep this pharmacy open as long as possible. And thank you to this great community. My hope is that someday soon with the potential changes in PBM regulation that someone can bring back this part of Americana to East Troy.
