I do not like wading into the political fray, but we HAVE to show our children we can do better so …. I understand there are fundamental differences between our candidates, and some may never be resolved. Still, we can stand side by side to support our differing views in a calm, respectful way. However, racism is never acceptable. Telling our Puerto Rican City Council President, who works tirelessly for ALL residents of Easthampton, to 'go back to Venezuela' is not only ignorant but also cruel and racist. Puerto Ricans have been US citizens since 1917. Let’s honor the diversity that created this country instead of tearing each other down.
