Farm Fact Friday: Peel, split and smash your lilac stems for a longer vase life.

Peel & split the stems: Lilacs have woody stems, so gently peel back a bit of the bark at the base and split the ends (about 1–2 inches). This helps them absorb way more water and stay hydrated.

Smash (optional): You can also lightly crush the ends with a hammer for even better water uptake.

Fresh cut lilacs available at the farm stand. 💜
Happy Friday, friends 😊

Farm Fact Friday:
All chicken eggs actually start off as either white or blue!

🟤 Brown eggs? They begin as white eggs, then get a brown “paint job” in the final hours before laying.
🔵 Blue eggs? Their color comes from a pigment that soaks all the way through the shell—inside and out!
🟢 Green eggs? They’re blue eggs with a brown layer added on top—green outside, blue inside!

Stop by the farm stand this weekend and grab a dozen fresh eggs. Before cracking them open, have everyone guess what color the shell will be on the inside—it’s a fun little surprise every time!

Happy Friday, Friends 😊

Farm Fact Friday: Ducks are hardy, intelligent birds that play an important role on the farm.

They are excellent foragers and natural pest control helpers, happily eating insects, slugs, and weeds as they explore the yard and garden.

On the farm, they’re not just charming pond visitors — they help maintain balance in the ecosystem while providing nutrient-rich eggs and natural garden support.

Life around the farm is busy, purposeful, and a little more peaceful with ducks in the mix.
Stop by the farm stand today for fresh duck eggs along with other goodies.
