After losing my mom, I gave myself grace and time to come to terms with such a monumental loss in my life. I paused operations, which has been helpful in so many ways.

I test items out before I add them to my website to ensure my care instructions are as accurate as possible.

Leaving anything other than water in stainless steel tumblers over 24 hours can build mold and mildew. But what about glass tumblers and the bamboo lids?

Well, if you leave water sitting in your glass tumbler with a bamboo lid for an extended period of time untouched, this is what happens. While it doesn’t smell, mold can build within the bamboo. The water (or any liquid really) tries to escape and becomes absorbed by the bamboo since it is permeable.

If you want your bamboo lids to last, wash/dry immediately after use and allow it to sit out on its own to finish drying out. It can also hide well behind the gasket ring due to small particles from drinks getting trapped there, so be sure to remove that ring and clean it as well.
