This 11 X 14 acrylic painting is my impression of a quiet, peaceful marshland pond on an overcast day. This scene is just south of Sarona on Hwy 53. I’ve longingly admired it and finally was able to snap a photo to be my inspiration. I’m calling this one “Quiet Marsh”.

This is a map of Nystrom’s Resort. I created it using satellite imagery, a plat map, and being ushered around the property by Jess from Drift North Vacation Rentals., to make sure the layout and details were just right!

It was definitely a challenge, but such a fun one! I loved bringing the cabins, lakefront, gardens, paths, and all the special little areas of the resort to life. A map that’s not only useful, but hopefully a keepsake celebrating a very special place on Big Chetac Lake! ❤️

Addendum: Mr. Wolfgang Arlt, who is 97 years old, called me today to thank me for the painting. His son brought it to him. He left a message saying he has it up in his room. He called it his fish house, so that’s what I’m going with-fish house! What an honor it is it to hear from him!

We have boated by this charming “boat house” on our beautiful lake many times over the years. I loved painting it and was finally able to deliver it to the family visiting this weekend!
