We’ve been so busy with our retail closing sale, it was nice to take a beat to get grounded in what this business is all about—adventure!

It was so fun to welcome out-of-towners from California to Florida and everywhere in between on the Chippewa River this weekend as they kicked off their music festival weekend with Campout in the Pines at the Pines Music Park!

🚨ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 Our business is changing. We'll be closing our retail operations but will continue our rental and trips programs into the future.

Over the nearly 3 years since we opened, this business has been enriched by enthusiasm from our community, support from our customers, stories of adventures past and future from our visitors, and genuine friendships made.

Thank you to all of you.

Unfortunately, despite the wonderful support, we've not been able to make our retail business work financially. Retail businesses across our community are struggling. The cost of doing business is increasing. The cost of doing business is increasing while our customers pay more and more at the grocery store, gas pump, and doctors office. The products we offer are going through mandated price increases, even though they're made in America. And online shopping culture is just getting stronger as folks, understandably, search for deals for the things they need.

This is all to say, this has been a tough road that has called for change. We're leaning into what has worked-adventures and experiences. And so we're continuing to invest in our rental and trips programs but closing our retail operations, with a closing sale starting August 1. The best way for you to support after this news is to shop our sale! Everything in the shop will be on sale, with sales getting better and better each week!

Our rental and trips programs will continue this year and into the future. The retail closure will have no impact on our upcoming 2026 trips or existing rental reservations. Updates on our rental program and our 2027 trips schedule will be made this fall and beyond.

Thank you again to our community for nearly 3 years of love and support. We appreciate your continued support as our business changes and we lean out of retail and into experiences.

We were happy to provide the gear for Landmark Conservancy ‘s annual Chippewa River Paddle Event this morning! This group of 18 launched at Hobbs landing this morning. They’ll talk about Landmark’s efforts to preserve land, particularly along our waterways, so that they can be enjoyed by the public for many generations to come! Beaver Creek Reserve also joined them to talk about fresh water mussels!

We love being outside, so naturally protecting our environment is so important to us! Gotta keep our air, land, and water clean and safe so we can continue to enjoy these hobbies! Happy to support organizations like Landmark Conservancy and Beaver Creek Reserve who are doing this conservation work every day for the good of all of us!
