Please take a few moments to speak up and let your elected representatives know how you feel about preserving access to today's h**p market.
We need every voice right now. Whether you're a consumer, patient, farmer, business owner, or simply believe in sensible regulation, your message can make a difference.
Below is the letter I sent to Senator Tammy Baldwin, Senator Ron Johnson, and Congressman Derrick Van Orden. I hope it helps inspire you to send one of your own.
Dear Senator,
My name is Chris Buske, and I am a constituent from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Eight years ago, I entered the h**p industry with a simple goal: to build a business centered on education, wellness, sustainability, and community. That vision became Wonders of Nature, a small family-owned business that has grown into much more than a retail store.
From working with farmers and manufacturers to educating customers in our community, I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the positive impact this industry has had on countless lives. Every day, people come through our doors looking for alternatives that fit their personal wellness goals. While everyone's experience is different, many have shared with us how meaningful access to h**p products has been for them. Those conversations are why I continue to believe this industry deserves thoughtful regulation—not elimination.
Throughout my time in this industry, I have consistently advocated for common-sense safeguards. I support age restrictions, accurate labeling, product testing, responsible packaging, and reasonable oversight that protects consumers while allowing small businesses to continue serving their communities. Responsible operators should be encouraged, and bad actors should be held accountable.
Wonders of Nature has always placed education at the center of what we do. We spend countless hours helping customers understand cannabinoids, responsible use, product quality, and realistic expectations. I have spoken publicly, worked with legislators, participated in interviews, and taken every opportunity to explain why this industry matters—not only for Wisconsin's economy and agricultural future, but for the thousands of adults who have chosen h**p products as part of their personal wellness routines.
Without an extension of the Section 781 implementation date, our business will almost certainly be forced to close. Years of work, investment, and dedication will disappear. More importantly, our customers will lose access to products they have come to rely on and to the trusted relationships they have built with responsible local businesses like ours.
This is about far more than one business. Across Wisconsin and throughout the country, thousands of small businesses, farmers, manufacturers, and employees have invested their lives into building this emerging industry. Many communities have benefited from the jobs, tax revenue, and local investment it has created. Losing all of that without adequate time to establish a sensible regulatory framework would be devastating.
I respectfully ask that you support including a two-year extension of the Section 781 implementation date—from November 12, 2026, to November 12, 2028—in the upcoming government funding bill. This additional time would allow Congress to work toward a balanced, science-based regulatory approach that protects consumers while preserving the many benefits this industry has brought to communities across America.
Please don't allow eight years of progress to disappear when there is still an opportunity to get this right.
Thank you for your time, your service, and your consideration.
Sincerely,
Chris Buske
