Do you like ephemera? I do! And I always look for it at estate sales. At the current Southern Charm Estate & Tag Sale Specialists sale, there were several old ledgers from the family store, so I had to bring one home and look through it. This is for my personal collection, but there are several more still available for sale. This one is over 400 pages. There was also a to***co sale logbook tucked in the back. Each person who bought on credit at the store had a page of their own and whatever they bought was written on the page. Periodically, each person would come in and pay on their balance, and this would be noted as well. If it weren't for general stores like this one extending credit to buyers, things would have been tough on a lot of families. I believe this store was located near the Community Baptist School and the building is still standing.
