In 1942 Earl Hoyt convinced his dad to go into the archery business with him under the name of Hoyt Archery Company. Earl's first major breakthrough was in bow design was introducing both the dynamic balance limbs and limbs of equal length in 1947, From there he developed the semi-pistol grip on bow handles and the 1956 the full pistol grip and in the late fifties he invented the Stabilizer.
